Is a hair transplant always the answer?

Losing your hair can be quite a tough time for some people. You can start to feel less confident and not knowing how best to deal with your hair loss can become stressful. We get a lot of queries about hair loss and if a hair transplant is the only solution. Today we’re looking into hair transplants and if they’re always the answer for hair loss.

What Is A Hair Transplant?

A hair transplant is a hair restoration treatment that can be used to transform a receding hairline to a natural, realistic and full hairline and can be used to create the appearance of a fuller head of hair for those with thinning hair.

At the Harley Street Hair Clinic, we only use the revolutionary FUE hair transplant procedure which works by extracting hair follicles from the donor area of the scalp (an area where the hair is fuller, typically the back and side of the scalp) with the use of a specialised extraction instrument. The follicles are then prepared under a microscope and are ready to be transplanted.

The hair follicles that have been removed are then transferred to the recipient area, this is the area of the scalp that is thinning, such as the hairline. This is done so with the use of a specialist micro surgical needle.

We only use skilled doctors for our hair transplant and they are highly skilled in placing the grafts at the precise angle and density to resemble a natural and realistic hair pattern.

Is A Hair Transplant Suitable For Everyone?

Although a hair transplant is an amazing hair restoration solution, it is not suitable for everyone. At the Harley Street Hair Clinic, we ensure every potential client of ours visits the clinic for a no obligation consultation before treatment.

During the consultation process, our doctors will assess your hair loss and discuss potential future hair loss with you to ensure you are suitable for a hair transplant.

In some cases, we get clients who are quite young visit us who are not always suitable, as you age your hair loss can worsen and be quite unpredictable which makes planning a hair transplant difficult and we advise younger clients to revisit the clinic in a few years and to keep track of their hair loss.

Other clients who visit the clinic may not be suitable due to not having enough hair, in order to achieve fantastic results a client needs to have enough donor hair, and some people do not have this.

What Other Hair Restoration Treatments Are Available?

Not being suitable for a hair transplant doesn’t mean you won’t be able to achieve fuller looking hair. There are other treatments on the market that can help those who are not suitable for a hair transplant, such as Advanced Tricho Pigmentation (ATP).

ATP is an innovate treatment offered exclusively at the Harley Street Hari Clinic. The treatment can be used to add definition to an already existing hairline, to add fullness to thinning areas of hair and can even be used to create the appearance of a full head of closely shaven head.

The pigmentation delivery system was built from the ground up with the sole purpose of creating the appearance of fine hair strokes and hair follicles. Tiny amounts of pigment are deposited to the scalp, once applied you’ll instantly see realistic results that replace real hair.
