The beard transplant trend continues to rise

Beards have been a huge trend for a long time now, and usually, after a year or so a trend dies down and is forgot about, until the next time. The trend for big beards hasn’t fizzled out it’s actually continuing to rise.

The rise in beard transplants

In the last two years, the number of men who have opted for a beard transplant has tripled, this highlights that the trend for big beards is continuing to soar. It is thought that with many famous faces including the likes of David Beckham, Tom Hardy and Bradley Cooper still sporting a well-groomed beard many others want to follow suit.

So, with this huge rise in beard transplants, we find that we’re receiving more and more enquiries about our beard transplant procedure, from how it works to how long it lasts. Today we’ll be looking into how the procedure works, and everything else you need to know.

How does a beard transplant work?

Our beard transplant procedures follow in the footsteps of our revolutionary FUE hair transplant procedures as they use the same technique. At the Harley Street Hair Clinic, we use the FUE transplant process as it gives clients the most natural and realistic results possible.

During a hair transplant, individual hair follicles are removed from areas of the head where the hair is fuller and transplanted to areas of the head where there is little to no hair. However, with a beard transplant hair is transplanted from the head and placed around the beard area.

The hair is removed from the scalp with the use of a specialist extraction tool, which leaves minimal scarring. The hair follicles are then prepared under a microscope and ready to be transplanted to the beard area. Our specialist doctors will transplant these follicles to areas of the beard that have noticeable scarring, gaps, or areas that the patient wants to build upon.

We have a lot of experience with creating the most natural looking transplants possible. All of our doctors are highly skilled and trained to place each follicle into the recipient area at an angle and density to match the natural hair growth pattern, this results in a natural and realistic looking transplant.

How long will my beard transplant last?

We often get asked how long beard transplants will last, some people think they’re a semi-permanent fix that will last a couple of years at most. However, similar to a hair transplant a beard transplant is the most permanent solution you will find.

When we transplant the follicles from the head we ensure we use the hair that is most likely to remain in the growth phase, and once this is transplanted to the beard, it will do the same. Your transplanted hair will continue to grow, just as it would on your scalp.

If you have any questions about beard transplants please feel free to contact us for a no obligation consultation. During your consultation, one of our hair loss specialists will be able to discuss the whole procedure with you.
